Toucans
and
Other Tropical Birds
Northern Half of the Eastern Aviary is divided into following five areas;(1)Toucans, (2)Victoria Crowned Pigeons and a couple of Hornbills, (3)Sai the Great Hornbill, (4)Turacos, Pigeons and Painted Quails, (5)Parrots.

Toucans

You can feed toucans with a cup of food(100yen). When you hold a cup of chopped fruits in your hand and stretch out your arm, a toucan will perch on the arm and eat diced fruits. A Toco Toucan is seen in above picture.

ATTENTION!
Claw of birds can cause some scratches on your skin. Hoodies free for rent are available at the toucans food vending stand.

What about taking souvenir pictures with toucans?

Hornbills

With 100 yen for a cup of food, you can feed Dai the Great Hornbill when it is hungry.


You can handle Sai the Great Hornbill twice a day, at 11:00-11:30 and 16:00-16:30. You can pat it on its back, have it perched on your arm and, of course, take a souvenir picture. The fee is 500 yen.
You can feed Victoria Crowned Pigeons directly from your hand.

Turacos and Pigeons
With 100 yen for a cup of food, you can feed turacos and pigeons.

Many Painted Quails are kept in a couple of wire cages with a hole, through which you can feed them.
