| The Courtyard |
The courtyard of the Garden is capped with net, and many kinds of birds
are let loose in it. The courtyard is occupied by a rectangular pond called
Nakaniwa-Ike(the Courtyard Pond), that is surrounded by corridor with eaves. The visitors
can enjoy handling birds without any trouble even on rainy days.

Many ducks and swans swim in the pond, and some other birds(stilts, pheasants,
peafowls etc.) walking along the corridor. You can feed them with a cup
of food at 100yen.

Mute Swan. Up to 16kg, it is the second heaviest bird that can fly.

An island is in the pond. Scarlet Ibis, Grey Crowned Cranes and many other
birds live in there.

Early Dinner for Waterfowls & Carps

In late afternoon, "Early Dinner for Waterfowl & Carps" is
held. You can join in the event at 100yen.
