Kamo Garden
is a famous Japanese Iris Garden in Japan that is situated in front of Japanese Cedar woods and village headman's palace built in the Edo era.

Ancient Japanese rural scene is kept unchanged in the Garden, and colourful Japanese Iris make the atmosphere more Japanese.

The Japanese Iris season is between the end of May and Mid June, the best period is between June 5th and 15th.

The Garden is slightly larger than average Japanese Iris Garden in dimension, but it is excellent in preserving old hybrids, breeding new hybrids and sending out abundant cultural information over the Iris.




Village Headman's Palace Kamo Palace is a palace of the Kamo Family, the owner of the Garden and a descendant of village headman of this area since Momoyama era.

You can see Nagayamon Entrance built in 1773(middle Edo era), earthern floor and living room of the palace with solid wooden pillars and beams, and barns built in Meiji era etc..

The Garden serves serves visitors many kinds of traditional dishes made by traditional methods. Some-Ii(steamed rice dyed in yellow with Gardenia seedpod), Miso, Syoyu-no-Mi topping, wild vegetables from surrounding hills etc. are popular among visitors.

The Greenhouse
is built by the Iris Garden, where beverage, snacks and Shoya-ryori dishes are served in the space with hanging baskets of Tuberous Begonias and tiered stands of Cape Primroses in full bloom.

And you can see here exclusively some flowers that are bred originally by the Garden;Japanese Primroses from mid April, Hydrangeas in June etc.
