The Iris Garden is about a hectare in area, and a million stocks in 1,500 varieties of Japanese Iris are cultivated both for exhibition and preservation. Season of Japanese Iris is usually from late May to mid June, starting with early-bloomers and numerous cultivars in bloom altogether at best period. |

| Extensive Garden The Garden has bred many original hybrids by itself, and it has preserved many old excellent cultivars dating back to the Edo era. The iris start blooming in early May, their main season is from late May to mid June. The best period is mid June, when the Garden has many visitors.
